My work with sound has been quite varied, including location audio as sound recordist and boom operator, doing music recordings in field and doing ambisonic audio design for VR and film. I also have beginner Sitar playing skills, and a training in Indian Classical music
For our project Whale Fall, we did location recordings with hydrophones, and received archival whale recordings from Ocean Alliance, which I developed into a 16 channel spatial ambisonic audio that takes the listener on a sonic journey from the surface to the depths of the ocean with the falling whale, using abstract audio textures to symbolise the whale's decomposition and bloom. Developed in Reaper with O3A and IEM plugins, as well as inbuilt tools, the sound was also rendered as a binaural track and used in Unreal Engine along with individual interactive sounds and accessibility audio to guide the player aurally.
